![]() ![]() Yet now they are taking that away for no real reason (I mean sure they have their TOS, but why would they do this and not only sacrifice quite some good will (as official homebrewability gave the xbox quite an edge for people in that area), and also opening the hackerspace quite a bit (as so far the Developer mode on xbox shielded it from people who just want to run their own stuff meaning mostly only the pirates were interested in hacking xbox, while now more may flow in to hack the xbox just to gain homebrew access again, whichmay result in the xbox one and series consoles finally being hacked (as I have not seem much in that regard likely because there was low interest in that before)Īs some commenters said this gets otherOS vibes from the PS3 I think this is a very bad move for Microsoft, I think like everyone praised MS for having an official (even if not free) way to run homebrew stuff on your console, like retroarch being one of the most well known options.
